Two Sanvedana students bag gold at state-level sports

undefinedLatur, January 8: Two students of Sanvedana, a day school for children with cerebral palsy brought laurels by winning gold medals at the State-level sports competitions for students with disabilities from January 3-5, 2014.

Sneha Sanjeev Hake and Vaishnavi Rajendra Gone of Sanvedana won gold in 25 meter walk and breaking ‘Laghori’ respectively at the state level competitions held at Amravati. The sports competitions were organized by Ministry of Social Justice, Government of Maharashtra.

Seven students from Sanvedana participated in this event. Amongst them Abhishek Shyam Kowlkhere, Radhika Sridhar Pathak, Pooja Rangrao Patil secured second and third positions respectively in ‘throwing the ball in the bucket’, and ‘breaking the laghori’ events.

Maharashtra Minister of Social Justice Shivajirao Moghe and Padmakar Valvi, Minister of Sports grace the inaugural function of the competitions.

The winners of various events were given prizes at the valedictory function by Bajirao Jadhav, Commissioner, Department of Disability Division and D R Bansode, Commissioner of Amravati Division.

Kishor Borkar, Member of State Coordination Committee, Dr Bhathambre, Prabhakar Joshi, Chairman of Sanvedana project and school committee and Deepa Patil, Head Mistress congratulated their students for their grand success at the state level competitions.

They also thanked the special teachers Venkat Lamjane, Yogesh Burande, and Sachin Routh for the efforts they took in enhancing the performance of these children to succeed in the competition.
